17,000 apply for MACC vacancies

PUTRAJAYA: Some 17,000 people have expressed interest in playing a part to ensure a corrupt-free country. But only 43 will make it.

That is the number of applications the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) received for its vacancies for officer posts.

Its deputy commissioner Datuk Zakaria Jaafar said: “We are surprised to have received such overwhelming response from job seekers.

“Of the thousands who submitted applications, only 1,800 will sit for a test and be called for an interview arranged by the Public Services Commission,” Zakaria said after witnessing the handing-over of keys to the new office for three of the MACC’s divisions.
